Ingredients:

  • Toor dal (or moong dal)
  • Onion, tomato, garlic, green chili
  • Mustard seeds, cumin seeds, turmeric, red chili powder
  • Ghee or oil

Method:

  1. Cook dal in a pressure cooker with turmeric and water until soft.
  2. In a pan, heat ghee, splutter mustard & cumin seeds, sauté garlic, onion, tomato, and spices.
  3. Add to the cooked dal and simmer. Serve with rice or roti.

🍛 2. Aloo Bhaji (Potato Stir-Fry)

Ingredients:

  • Potatoes, mustard seeds, turmeric, green chili, curry leaves, oil

Method:

  1. Boil and cube potatoes.
  2. In oil, splutter mustard seeds, add curry leaves and chilies.
  3. Add turmeric, salt, and potatoes. Toss well. Done!

Ingredients:

  • Rice, mixed veggies (carrot, beans, peas), whole spices (bay leaf, cardamom), onion

Method:

  1. Sauté whole spices and onions in ghee/oil.
  2. Add veggies, rice, water (1:2 ratio), salt.
  3. Cook covered until rice is fluffy.

Ingredients:

  • Curd (yogurt), grated cucumber, cumin powder, salt, coriander

Method:

  1. Mix all ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Chill and serve as a cooling side with rice or paratha.

  • Besan (gram flour), onion, chili, coriander, turmeric, water

Method:

  1. Make a smooth batter.
